A Kiss Of Shadows by Laurell K. Hamilton (Merry Gentry series #1)

Meet Merry Gentry, paranormal P.I. and faerie princess, and enter a thrilling, erotically-charged world as dangerous as it is beautiful - a world full of earthly pleasures and ancient magic, and ruled by the dark passions of immortal beings once worshipped as gods . . . or demons.

Merry Gentry, princess of the high court of Faerie, is posing as a human in Los Angeles where she works as a private investigator specializing in supernatural crime.

But now her loathed aunt - the Queen of Air and Darkness - has sent an assassin to bring Merry back to court – whether she likes it or not. For Merry is to be a pawn in the Queen's ruthless plans for the succession.

The task that awaits her doesn't seem so onerous: to enjoy the company of the faerie world's most beautiful immortal men. Her reward is the crown – and to stay alive.

The penalty for failure: death . . .

Dark, sensual and dangerous, A Kiss of Shadows is an unbridled tour-de-force - the exciting, erotically-charged first chapter in Merry Gentry's thrilling, shiver-inducing story.
